Deputy Governor of Banten Andika Hazrumy officially released the contingent of Banten Province athletes who will compete in the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021, at the Banten Governor’s Hall, KP3B Curug, Serang City Thursday (9/9).

 

Andika asked the residents of Banten to join in praying for the success of the Banten Province contingent which is targeting to be in the top 10 in the National sports competition.

“God willing, the top 10. We ask the people of Banten to join in the prayers,” Andika said in her speech.

Andika revealed, at PON XIX 2016 the Banten contingent managed to rank in the top 13, so it would be relevant if at PON XX in Papua the Banten contingent could be ranked in the top 10.

According to Andika, the Banten Provincial Government and the entire Banten community are proud that the Banten contingent can participate in 37 sports at the XX Papua PON 2021.

“For this reason, all athletes must continue to be enthusiastic and establish togetherness with coaches, managers and officials to achieve champions in all sports,” he said.

Representing the Banten Provincial Government, Andika also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have helped a lot in coaching starting from the implementation of regional training, try outs and championships that were followed, as well as the development of other sports achievements to improve the achievements of Banten athletes.

 

“In particular, I appreciate the readiness of the sons and daughters of Banten to strengthen the Pelatda towards the XX 2021 PON in Papua,” he added.

According to Andika, the Banten Provincial Government has prepared bonuses for members of the contingent who have won the championship. However, Andika did not specify the amount of the bonus. What is clear, said Andika, is that the Banten Provincial Government and the entire.

Banten community appreciate athletes, coaches and sports branch administrators as well as regional heads of districts/cities throughout Banten province who have supported the progress of sports in order to achieve good achievements at the national and international levels.

Meanwhile, the head of the Banten Province KONI, Brigadier General Pol (Ret.) Rumiah Kartoredjo, said that the Banten contingent had been carefully prepared to be able to participate in all branches competed at the Papua PON.

 

“Including the prokes (Covid-19 Health Protocol) there is a protocol (permanent protocol) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs),” said the former Banten Police Chief.
