Rain again flushed the Jabodetabek area with heavy intensity on Saturday (20/2) in the morning, causing increased water discharge in several flood-prone areas.
“Starting early in the morning until now, we continue to deploy personnel to several flood points in Jakarta, Tangerang and Bekasi to evacuate residents to safer places.” emphasized Hendra Sudirman, SE, M.Sc., Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office.
He also added that not only were the rescue team personnel from the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office being deployed but also personnel from the Basarnas Special Group (BSG) to carry out the evacuation process.
The following are some of the evacuation points carried out by the Basarnas rescue team: 1. Duta Indah Housing (Bekasi City) water level 100 to 150 cm; 2. Housing Cipinang Melayu (East Jakarta City) water level 100 to 200 cm; 3. Bappenas Complex (South Jakarta City)
Water level 80 to 100 cm; 4. Pondok Gede IKIP complex (Bekasi City) water level 100 to 200 cm; 5. Bintaro IKPN Complex (South Tangerang City) water level 100 to 150 cm; 6. Cikupa Warehouse Complex (Tangerang Regency) water level up to 100 cm.
The Jakarta Search and Rescue Office is currently still recording the flood-affected areas in other places and will send personnel to those points.
“We appeal to the community to immediately evacuate when water has started to enter the house to a safer place and not to wait when the water is getting high.” closed Hendra. Basarnas also opens a 24-hour contact center 115 if there are residents who need a flood evacuation process. (henri permana / pn)
